Holleman Vineyards
The Holleman Vineyard is located in San Andreas on Croatan Court off of Mountain Ranch Road. The vines are a bench graft of a Sobon clone from Plymouth, California, and 110 R root stock by Duarte Nursery. Three acres were planted in October of 1998.
From the beginning, a decision was made to limit production to three tons per acre in order to produce the highest quality fruit. Through meticulous attention to the vineyard we have been able to achieve what has been called... "some of the finest grown Zinfandel in the Sierra Foothills."
In Calaveras County the designation "Big John's Vineyard" has been used to identify fruit from the Holleman Vineyard. A winemaker that purchases Holleman Vineyard grapes stated, "This delicious fruity Zinfandel could only come from one vineyard. John and Nancy Holleman grow this delicious wine with the utmost care. The low yield produces an intense Zinfandel with a unique grape flavor."
