Presidents' Wine Weekend 2019

24 Family Wineries Join Together Presidents Weekend to Share The Best Wines and Visitor Experiences in Calaveras County !


Calaveras Winegrape Alliance is set to host the 23rd Annual Presidents’ Wine Weekend on February 16th and 17th 2019 from 11:00 to 5:00 each day. Nestled in a beautiful landscape, at the base of the Sierra Foothills and just 90 minutes from the Bay Area and Sacramento region, Calaveras Wine Country is the perfect one-stop wine and adventure wonderland.



Attendees visit any tasting room of their choice with the purchase of a $25 commemorative glass where they can enjoy a limited flight of award-winning wines at over 24 participating wineries. While visiting Calaveras County wineries, attendees can also purchase tickets to exclusive winemaker events and live music, participate in barrel tastings and winemaker dinners, and many more activities that surround this wine-centric festival. A few examples include:

  • Ironstone Vineyards is hosting the Presidents’ Wine Weekend Kick-Off Party on Friday, February 15th at 6:00 and includes appetizers and wine pairings along with live entertainment. Tickets available HERE.

  • The "How to Taste Wine" experience will take place at Locke Vineyards where attendees will be guided thru the five main components of wine tasting. Each class is 45 minutes and starts at 10:30 am Saturday and Sunday during Presidents' Wine Weekend. Advance tickets are required HERE.

  • Wine Weekend visitors can join a "guerrilla-style" Tap Takeover at the Newsome Harlow downtown Tasting Room on Saturday and Sunday by exciting new label, Ten By Ten Wines! Fans of Newsome Harlow can finally have a chance to experience this latest project which includes varietals like Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Primitivo. Weekend attendees can also pop over to the Newsome Harlow winery (about a 2-minute drive or 8-minute walk from downtown) and taste several of their classics with winemaker & owners, Scott & Melanie Klann. The winery is located at 107 Emerald Creek Drive Murphys.

  • Join the fun team at Twisted Oak Vineyards for a multi-course meal and wine pairing celebrating the Strange and Twisted favorite foods of our past Presidents. And... you just might meet a past President or First Lady! Only 70 tickets available for this dinner event at Twisted Oak Winery.

  • Explore Calaveras Wine Country views at Aloria Vineyards and sign up for a Winemaker Vineyard Hike. The experience includes hiking through the vineyards and the stunning world-class views, “High above the Rush" and 2200 feet above New Melones Reservoir. Taste through the varietals and then savor delightful three-course plated pairings in the barrel room, masterfully prepared by our Vineyard Chef, James Liles.   • To wrap up the weekend festivities, a select group of attendees can join the Dixieland “Stars & Stripes” Brunch at the newly remodeled Dunbar House and outdoor event space on Sunday, February 17th 11:00 - 1:00. Limited to the first 50 ticket holders, tickets are available through pre-sale or by booking a stay at the Dunbar House Bed & Breakfast..

Visitors to Calaveras County Wine Country can also find special hotel packages, restaurant recommendations, weekend activities, and more at the Calaveras Winegrape Alliance website. Several lodging packages are available for this popular event including Copperopolis' Saddle Creek Golf Resort in Copper Valley where guests can book a stay in the luxurious bungalows with golf course views and attend a morning wine presentation with the regions own local wine expert.


To participate in the 2019 Presidents’ Wine Weekend event, attendees can pre-purchase either an All-Weekend pass or a One-Day ticket online with a limited amount of passes available on the day of the event.
